Matcha is a traditional Japanese tea powder made from finely ground green tea leaves. With Matcha, you consume the leaves themselves, allowing you to absorb all the healthy nutrients. This makes it especially important that the Matcha is completely free of chemicals.

The quality of Matcha varies greatly, from simple culinary grades to premium ceremonial Matcha. High-quality ceremonial Matcha is known for its rich umami flavor, vibrant green color, and low bitterness.

You can prepare Matcha in different ways:

🍵 Ceremonial Matcha

Warm up your bamboo whisk (chasen) in a bowl with hot water.

Sift 2g of Matcha (1 stick) into a dry bowl (chawan).
Add 60 ml of water at about 80–90°C (not boiling).
Whisk with the chasen in an M or Z motion until a foam layer forms.

⚡ Quick and easy

Add 2g of Matcha (1 stick) to a shaker or glass.
Add 60 ml (or more, to taste) of warm water (80–90°C).
Shake or stir until fully dissolved.

🥛 Matcha Latte

Follow one of the above steps to prepare the Matcha.
Pour warm milk or plant-based milk (like oat milk) into a glass.
Add the prepared Matcha.
For an iced latte: add ice cubes to the glass before adding the milk and Matcha.
Optional: sweeten with honey or syrup.
